Innovation in Human-Computer-Interaction (HCI) has affected many parts of everyday life. One area that needs to be addressed by HCI is the entertainment in amusement parks. This design research process investigated what role HCI plays in park attractions.

I interviewed experts; the findings formed a four-level framework. The current interactions in the framework are not for groups but focus on individual interactions. While visiting an amusement park, you go with a group of people, friends or family.

Thus, what makes a good group HCI? Control distribution over the group members is the missing link. Members of a group get roles. Those are characters to play inside the attraction. Each character has a different part to play in the narrative. Individuals have control over other segments of the park attraction than group members.
